Roswell Schools To Celebrate First Successful Year

ROSWELL, GA -- Throughout the month of May, Fulton County Schools’ newest facilities will dedicate their buildings to commemorate a successful first school year.

The four new schools are part of a large-scale school construction effort funded through the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, the one-penny educational sales tax approved by voters.

The celebrations are as follows:

Vickery Mill Elementary School
Tuesday, May 2
9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Wolf Creek Elementary School
Friday, May 5
9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
4440 Derrick Road, Atlanta

South Learning Center/Fulton Schools College and Career Academy
Wednesday, May 10
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
4025 Flat Shoals Road, Union City

Esther Jackson Elementary School
Thursday, May 18
9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
1440 Martin Road, Roswell

During each ceremony, students and faculty will describe their experience being part of their school’s inaugural class. In addition, special guests will speak and light refreshments will be served following the formal program. All students, parents and community members are invited these events.
