Roswell Seeks Disaster Preparedness Training Program Applicants

Roswell, GA -- Roswell’s Fire Department is accepting applications from residents who are interested in participating in its second Community Emergency Response Team program.

The program, which will begin Jan. 7, 2016, educates participants about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.
It also allows CERT members to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

CERT members will also be encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
Training for the CERT program consists of 10 classes, most of which will be held at Roswell Fire Station 7 at 8025 Holcomb Bridge Road.
