Roswell Seeks Events To Highlight For Arts and Humanities Month

All selected events submitted by Aug. 19 will be included in official marketing materials for the city's commemoration.

ROSWELL, GA -- Community members and organizations are invited to submit events to be include in Roswell’s National Arts and Humanities Month celebration this October.

Whether you are already planning an artistic or cultural event, or would like to create one for the celebration, submissions are currently being accepted.

All selected events that are submitted by Aug. 19 will be included in official marketing materials for Roswell’s National Arts and Humanities Month.

Each year, Roswell partners with more than 25 different organizations to compile a list of special arts events that are open to the public during the month of October, making it the perfect opportunity to highlight your work, explore new ways to express yourself creatively, and have some fun.

As part of the celebration, The Roswell Arts Fund will award three $100 Creative Competition Awards to the organizations or individuals who propose an outstanding, innovative event. Award-winning events will introduce something new to Roswell and will broaden participation by attracting new audiences and actively engaging participants.

Winners will be decided by the Roswell Arts Fund and the Cultural Services Division, based on events submitted before Aug. 19 and announced the first week in October.

Additionally, the Roswell Arts Fund is sponsoring the following community events:

  • Oct. 5: How to Choose Art for Your Home and Office Hosted at Muse & Co. Fine Art Gallery. Sponsored by the Roswell Arts Fund and the Roswell Arts District.
  • Oct. 8 & 15: ArtAround Shuttle Tours The October 8 tour leaves from Roswell City Hall. The October 15 tour leaves from the Adult Recreation Center.
  • Oct. 26: Public Conversation on the Arts — “Art: the Heart of Community Planning” Featuring Jamie Bennett, Executive Director for ArtPlace. Sponsored by Roswell Arts Fund and Roswell Inc.
