Roswell Showstoppers Present 'Beauty and the Beast'

The cast of 24 students will take the Roswell Cultural Arts Center stage Jan. 29-30.

ROSWELL, GA -- The Roswell Showstoppers will present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr. later this month at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.

The show will be held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 29 and Jan. 30. Based on the 1994 Broadway production and Disney’s 1991 animated feature film, the musical features classic songs from the Academy Award®-winning film score, such as “Be Our Guest” and “Belle,” as well as original songs from the 1994 Tony®-nominated Broadway musical.

The Roswell Showstoppers cast is made up of 24 students who have rehearsed since September under the direction of Managing Director Nancy Whitehead and Artistic Director Leslie Kelley.

“The performers have worked very hard on their character development, vocals and choreography,” Whitehead said. “They are a great cast that works well together, showing excitement each week as they grow to be our future stage and screen stars.”

Kelley added they are grateful for the support of parents ”who play a huge role in the success of our show by helping build sets, gathering props and costumes, and working front of house and backstage jobs that are crucial to a smooth production.”

“We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful company of performers and parents,” Kelley added. “They all bring their talents to our show, and we are so proud to call ourselves the Roswell Showstoppers.”
