Roswell Spends $84,000 On 'Active Shooter' Gear
The City Council voted to purchase 147 kits to be distributed to law enforcement officers.
ROSWELL, GA -- More than 100 law enforcement officers in the city of Roswell will soon have additional protection in a time of crisis.
The Roswell City Council at its Monday, July 25 meeting approved the purchase of 147 police active shooter kits from Dana Safety Supply for $84,269.22.
According to city staff, the kits are a "critical lifesaving equipment for active shooter situation." The Roswell Police Department received three quotes for the gear, and Dana Safety submitted the lowest quote for $573.26 per unit.

The city purchase 147 kits, each of which includes a ballistic helmet, vest, two steel rifle plates and a carry bag.
The equipment will be distributed to Roswell police Municipal Court, Park Police and Probation officers.
