Roswell Visitors Center Collecting Items For U.S. Troops
Residents are asked to drop off various donations by 5 p.m. Jan. 29.

Roswell, GA -- The Roswell Rotary Club, the city of Roswell and the Roswell Visitors Center are collecting dry goods and toiletries for U.S. military service men and women serving overseas.

This year’s recipients are the heroes of the 1st Battalion 7th Marines, 1st Division in Iraq.
For the next couple of weeks, residents are encouraged to add a few extra items to their grocery lists, and drop them off at the visitors center by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29.

All items collected will be delivered to the Rotary Club of Roswell packing center on Jan. 30. Items requested by the troops include:
- Beef Jerky (by special request, as “it tastes like home.”)
- Energy bars (Cliff, power bars, etc.)
- Propel powder or mixes with electrolytes and energy
- All flavors of gum
- Caffeine — Starbucks instant coffee packets
- Ground coffee, sweetener, creamer (small packages, no cans)
- Powder (baby, gold bond, foot powder)
- Socks
- Lip balm
- Deodorant
- Hand-held games (no batteries can be shipped)
- Paper, pens, envelopes
