Roswell Wants Citizen Input On Future Development

The city is encouraging residents to take part in a Future Development Map Exercise to communicate their preferences.

Roswell, GA -- The city of Roswell is inviting the public to participate in its 2035 Comprehensive Plan update by taking part in an interactive exercise.

By completing the Future Development Map Exercise, community members can provide their preferences for future development in areas throughout the city.

Here’s how you can participate:

  • Print a copy of the Current Development Map (white areas are current suburban residential areas). The map can be downloaded at www.roswellgov.com/CompPlan.
  • Indicate in blue the areas you think should remain only single-family, residential, detached homes.
  • Leave white the areas you believe can be used for townhomes, small lots, and cottage court style home.
  • Send in your completed map:
    • Scan/email to jdeibel@roswellgov.com or lushere@pondco.com
    • Drop off in-person at City Hall (38 Hill Street, Roswell)
    • Mail to the Roswell Community Development Department, 38 Hill Street, Suite G-30, Roswell, GA, 30075

The deadline to complete and submit a map is Friday, Jan. 29.

This exercise may also be completed at the community meeting, which is scheduled for Jan. 21.

Two additional community meetings in March will be used to present the Draft Plan Update, which will incorporate the feedback gathered from the map exercise among other key findings.

The March community meetings will be an opportunity to offer final comments and thoughts before the Draft Plan Update is finalized.

These open-house style sessions will cover key issues and trends in the community, needs and opportunities for the plan, policies to consider and input on the Future Development Map.

  • Jan. 21, 2016 | 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Roswell City Hall, Room 220, 38 Hill Street

  • March 2, 2016 | 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Roswell Area Park, 10495 Woodstock Road

  • March 3 | 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    East Roswell Park, 8900 Fouts Road
