Roswell Wants Your Household Hazardous Waste Items

The city's Public Works/Environmental Department will hold a household hazardous waste collection event on June 14.

Roswell's Public Works/Environmental Department will soon give its residents a chance to recycle their hazardous waste items.

The agency will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on June 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will not be held at the Roswell Recycling Center, but at the city's public works/transportation/fire facilities at 1810 Hembree Road. 

The event is for residents only, so no commercial entities are allowed to participate.

Items accepted are:

  • Oil-based paint (latex paint will not be accepted)
  • Paint thinner/turpentine
  • Pesticides including: fertilizers, herbicides, flea and tick products, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides
  • Undiluted pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Propane gas cylinders
  • Mercury thermometers/thermostats
  • Household batteries (non-rechargeable)
  • Aerosols including aerosol paint
  • Automotive brake fluid/used motor oil filters (no other automotive fluids)

The Environmental Quality Company will be handling and disposing of the materials. Materials cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
