Roswell Woman's Club Raises More Than $2 Million For Local Causes

The club recently held an event to celebrate surpassing the milestone.

ROSWELL, GA -- Since its inception in the spring of 1948, the Roswell Woman's Club has focused its efforts exclusively on improving the quality of life in the city and neighboring communities in North Fulton.

Most recently, those efforts have paid off, as the club recently celebrated surpassing the $2 million mark in its fundraising efforts.

A photo opportunity with Mayor Jere Wood was held Saturday, Dec. 10 to commemorate the milestone.

In 1949, Roswell Woman's Club charter members began hosting benefit bridge parties, fashion shows and musical events to raise money, which they funneled directly back into the community.

During its first two decades, the club was dedicated to promoting cultural interests, signified by the founding of the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance and the Roswell Historical Society.

According to its mission statement, RWC supports the community in the areas of educational scholarships and grants, human services, cultural arts, historical preservation and urban improvement.

"We applaud the efforts of those individuals who are making a difference by giving, volunteering and enriching lives," the organization said.
