Roswell's Judy Mozen Wins National Lifetime Achievement Award for her work in the Home Remodeling Industry

Judy Mozen, president of Roswell-based Handcrafted Homes, Inc., has been awarded the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). This prestigious national honor recognizes industry accomplishments, awards, local community involvement and NARI participation both locally and nationally. To be considered, NARI members must have held both appointed and elected NARI offices, been a member of NARI for a minimum of seven years and worked in the remodeling industry for at least 20 years.

“Judy Mozen is an exemplary member of NARI and represents the embodiment of NARI’s promise – ‘Remodeling Done Right’ – in all that she does. It has been a pleasure working with Judy as an Executive Officer,” said Fred Ulreich, CEO of NARI.

In addition to winning the Lifetime Achievement Award, Mozen was named Chair of the organization’s President’s Council. Over the years, Mozen has served in several national leadership roles, including Secretary, Treasurer, President and Board Chair of NARI. During her recent tenure as NARI President and Board Chair, she created a workforce development program to address the impending skills gap in the remodeling and home construction industries and to broaden the diversity of people trained and employed in the industry.

“Judy has served NARI on both the national and local level for many years, and is well-deserving of this prestigious honor,” said Jesse Morado, executive director of NARI Atlanta. “In recent years, she has spearheaded one of our most successful annual education events, Cutting Edge, and participated in NARI Atlanta’s annual Tour of Remodeled Homes.”

In addition to running a successful remodeling company for 40 years, Mozen has been a strong advocate for diversity in the home building/remodeling industry. She has been an active NARI member since 2004, most recently serving as Board Chair for the national organization. She is a NARI Master Certified Remodeler and Green Certified Professional, as well as an EarthCraft Builder and EarthCraft Remodeler. She currently serves on the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) Board of Certified Professional Home Builders, and chaired NARI’s Certification Board. Late last year, she was awarded the first-ever “Remodeler of the Year” OBIE Award presented by the Sales and Marketing Council of GAHBA. Her firm, Handcrafted Homes, Inc., has been the recipient of a number of national and regional NARI Contractor of the Year (CotY) awards, as well as the NARI Atlanta President’s Award.
