Roswell's New Event Space, Mimosa Hall And Gardens Now Open

Roswell's Mimosa Hall and Gardens will be available for rent for special events and public meetings.

ROSWELL — Roswell’s Mimosa Hall and Gardens officially opens Wednesday, according to a news release. The space will be available for rent for special events and public meetings. The public is invited to the open house and ribbon cutting celebration from 5-7 p.m. at 127 Bulloch Avenue.

“After much hard work and dedication, we are excited to be able to invite members of the public into Mimosa Hall and to show our community what an exceptional and unique space it will be for special events and other gatherings,” said Jeff Leatherman, Director of the City of Roswell’s Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department in a statement.

The historic nine-acre estate was built in 1841 and purchased by the city in 2017. Leatherman said there is still work to be done.

“This is one major step in a long process,” he said. “There are some unique challenges that come with the repair and maintenance of a 180-year-old home. We’ve come a long way, but we’re still working on the continued improvement of the house and grounds, and we appreciate our community’s ongoing support as we restore this historic property to its former beauty.”

Starting Friday, those interested in renting Mimosa Hall’s first floor or grounds will be able to view the site by appointment by contacting Susie McCoy, Special Events Facilities Coordinator, at 770-594-6154 or smccoy@roswellgov.com. Also starting on Friday the grounds of the estate will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
