Shooting Death of Roswell Teen Remains Unsolved

Kobe Williams, 17, a former Centennial High School student, was found dead Feb. 7 behind a building at Nesbit Ferry Crossing Apartments.

ROSWELL, GA -- Roswell police investigators continue to pursue all angles in an effort to crack the case of a teenager who was gunned down behind an apartment complex earlier this week.

Detectives are in the midst of following up with several individuals who've piqued their interest in the shooting death of Kobe Williams, 17, said spokesperson Lisa Holland.

"We do not believe this was a random attack," she said.

Investigators also believe that the person or people behind the fatal shooting were "known to him," Holland added.

Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. Feb. 7 to a 911 call reporting multiple gun shots at Nesbit Ferry Crossing Apartments on Saratoga Drive.

Police arrived on the scene to find the body of a male behind Building 15 at the complex, Holland previously told Patch.

The teen, later identified as Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound, Holland said.

Holland added the teen lived in an apartment within the development. Susan Hale, spokeswoman with Fulton County Schools, said Williams was a student at Centennial High School last year.

The system deployed a crisis care team at the school earlier this week "to talk with any student who had a hard time receiving the news," she added.

"Even though he wasn’t a current student, he was still remembered by some of his former classmates," Hale told Patch.
