'Stamp Out Hunger' Campaign Feeds Less Fortunate Families
North Fulton Community Charities is a recipient of the National Association of Letter Carriers' campaign, which will be held May 12.

ROSWELL, GA — The National Association of Letter Carriers is once again helping less fortunate families with its annual Stamp Out Hunger campaign, which will take place on Saturday, May 12.
Letter carriers within North Fulton community will collect non-perishable donations as they deliver mail along their postal routes. As one of the largest food drive campaigns across the country, the North Fulton Community Charities Food Pantry is a local recipient of the donations.
In 2017, NFCC's food pantry provided 785,000 pounds of food to 100 families per day. This vital support allows families living in our community to remain stable during the summer months.

How can you help? Just leave a sturdy bag near your mailbox filled with non-perishable food items, and your postal carrier will collect the bags as they travel their route on Saturday. Our most requested needs are: tomato sauce, rice, jelly and toothpaste. Additionally, residents are encouraged to spread the word to their friends, faith community and family members who live in North Fulton to help NFCC.
The 26th annual national campaign is the country's largest single-day food drive, the U.S. Postal Service said. Last year’s drive resulted in carriers collecting 75 million pounds of food from the local communities and around the country, Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgin islands.
Combined with last year’s record of 80.1 million pounds, that makes a two-year total of 155 million pounds —the highest back-to-back total in the drive’s history. Since the program began in 1983, employees and customers have contributed 1.5 billion pounds of non-perishable food. You can learn more about the program by clicking here.
North Fulton Community Charities was established in 1983, and serves low-income individuals and families in the communities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Mountain Park and Milton. Its mission is to build self-sufficiency and prevent homelessness and hunger in our community by providing emergency assistance and enrichment programs. It also mobilizes community resources to efficiently resource the needs of more than 14,000 low-income individuals who live on the verge of becoming homeless.
