Sunshine on a Ranney Day Reveals Home Makeover For Roswell Family
Non-profit organization creates dream room and home makeover for child with long-term illness
Sunshine on a Ranney Day, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia that creates dream room & home makeovers for children with long-term illnesses, brought a little bit of sunshine to a Roswell resident this month! On Monday, September 21st, the non-profit organization revealed a home makeover to the Vaughter family. Co-founders of Sunshine on a Ranney Day Peter and Holly Ranney have spent weeks transforming 6-year old Braeden’s bedroom and living/kitchen space into a haven of hope, accomodating the family’s needs. Braeden was born with Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome, Epilepsy and Pervasive Developmental Disorder, enduring chronic gastrointestinal pain, seizures and developmental delays in cognition and physical performance.
The remodel includes a padded room to reduce injuries from loss of balance during exploration and play as well as a deluxe hand-crafted padded bed. In addition, to help him get around the home independently while remaining safe, rails were added to the walls leading to the stairs and between the kitchen and living room where he plays with his younger siblings, Molly and Reed. Thanks to sponsors such as Randall Paulson Architects, Reliable Heating and Air and more, Sunshine on a Ranney Day is able to transform homes for deserving families such as the Vaughters to accommodate their needs and help them feel comfortable and relaxed.
