Teen Hospitalized After Attempting To Harm Herself Near Roswell School

A teen who may have attempted to harm herself was found by responders near Roswell High School and taken to the hospital, police said.

ROSWELL, GA — A 16-year-old girl who may have attempted to harm herself was found by responders near Roswell High School Wednesday and taken to the hospital. Roswell Police spokeswoman Lisa Holland said the victim was unconscious but breathing.

The incident drew police and emergency personnel to a wooded area between the school and a shopping center.

The more factors that apply, the sheriff's office said, the more likely a teen could be having suicidal thoughts. The office also urged parents who own firearms to keep them secure and out of children's hands, whether those children are suicidal or not.
