Troy Schulz Promoted to Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Fellowship Christian School

Veteran basketball coach Troy Schulz has been named head coach of the girls varsity basketball team at Fellowship Christian School, it was announced by Athletic Director David Lowery.

“I am very pleased to announce the promotion of Troy Schulz as our new head coach for varsity girls basketball,” Athletic Director David Lowery said. “Coach Schulz has an extensive background coaching girls basketball at various age levels. He has a great appreciation and passion for the game of basketball. Throughout the selection process, I have gained tremendous respect for Coach Schulz’s vision and plan to build a quality program at FCS.”

Schulz has served as assistant varsity girls basketball coach at FCS for the last two seasons. Prior to that he served as head coach at the middle school level at Fellowship.

During his coaching career, Schulz has served as director of an AAU Club and has been an AAU head coach the last six seasons. He was also the head varsity girls coach at Cherokee Christian School for two seasons.

"The opportunity to coach at the varsity level is a dream come true,” Schulz said. “Every coach desires an opportunity like this, and I am excited for it to be at Fellowship. I look forward to helping our athletes succeed – not only in basketball, but in the classroom, and as leaders in our community."

Prior to moving to Georgia in 2008, Schulz coached for 18 years in Wisconsin, including the last seven as a varsity girls assistant coach.

Schulz and his wife Cindy have been married for 20 years and they have two daughters at FCS: Sadie (senior) and Savannah (eighth grade). The family attends Woodstock City Church.
