True Meaning Of Christmas Tour Comes To Roswell
The United Methodist Church's tour truck will visit Heart of Roswell Park 2-6 p.m. Dec. 22 for a chance to fellowship with the community.
ROSWELL, GA -- The United Methodist Church will make a stop in Roswell on Saturday as part of its outreach to promote fellowship during the Christmas season. An easy-to-find tour truck (and free hot cocoa) will be the centerpiece of the church's The True Meaning of Christmas Tour festivities, which will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at Heart of Roswell Park.
The truck is hitting the road in 16 states this year as the church visits 21 communities to "unwrap the true meaning of Christmas," it said in its press release. Chapel Roswell will host the come-and-go event, and the community at large is invited to attend.
Giving back to the community is part of the package. There will be a collection of monetary donations for the Disaster Response Ministry, which is sponsored by the North Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church and funds early response teams in helping disaster survivors. Tour participants can bring donations to the event.

“We want to offer our community a different type of gift: an opportunity to celebrate what Christmas is all about by engaging in service with neighbors, boosting joy and building relationships with others,” said the Rev. Eric Lee, lead pastor of Chapel Roswell. “We are also extending an invitation to attend a place
of worship or become part of a faith community.”
Dan Krause, chief executive of United Methodist Communications, added the tour is a unique way for the church to reach people who want to give back to the community or experiencing lonliness. More than 500 volunteers from local UMCs are teaming up with the national brand to make this a multi-state effort, he added.
