Victim, Suspect Named In Fatal Stabbing During Roswell Party
Roswell Police have named the suspect and the victim who died after getting stabbed outside a child's birthday party Saturday in Roswell.
ROSWELL, Ga. — One woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after he stabbed her outside a child's birthday party on Saturday, according to Roswell Police.
Roswell Police Sgt. Britney Rodgers said at 8 p.m. on May 18, officers responded to a stabbing at Dalia’s Events, 10479 Alpharetta Hwy. According to investigators, the suspect, Pedro Navarro-Zelaya, 44, of Roswell, approached the victim during a child’s birthday party. Navarro-Zelaya stabbed the victim multiple times, then stabbed himself in the chest.
The victim, Margarita Cabrera-Maldonado, 42, of Roswell, was transported to Wellstar North Fulton Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Navarro-Zelaya was transported to Wellstar North Fulton Hospital, where he remains in police custody. Navarro-Zelaya is expected to recover from his injuries.
According to investigators, Maldonado and Navarro-Zelaya were in a relationship that ended approximately one year ago.
