When Can I Buy Beer on Sundays?

Now that voters have resoundingly approved Sunday alcohol sales in Roswell, the question of when it will go into effect is on many minds - and the answer could be as soon as Nov. 20.

Of the 10,385 total votes the referendum received, about 80 percent of those votes were in favor of the measure that will allow Roswell stores to sell alcohol between 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Sundays.

So when can you expect to make your first alcoholic purchase in Roswell, on a Sunday?

The city must first wait until Fulton County certifies the election results, which the Fulton County Supervisor of Elections has said will be Nov. 15.

"If the results are certified on that date, alcohol sales can begin the next Sunday, which is Nov. 20," said Roswell Spokeswoman Julie Brechbill.
