Why do you need to know CPR? Life is WHY!

Did you know that, bystander CPR is the backbone to survival without you intervention, there will be a negative outcome. Learn CPR!

Cardiac arrest = dead. - Clinically dead, to be correct!
Approximately 80% of death that occur in the US happen at home, not at work, a hospital or doctors office. Statistically, your love one will die at your home with perhaps you helplessly watching. EMT’s arriving anywhere from 5-30 min later to find your loved one is now biologically dead (brain dead) as CPR has not been preformed and there is nothing they can do now.
The brain can survive up to about 4 min after the heart stop, after 4 min brain damage has begone and the brain is dead after only 10 minutes
By definition, "brain death" is "when the entire brain, including the brain stem, has irreversibly lost all function." The legal time of death is "that time when a physician(s) has determined that the brain and the brain stem have irreversibly lost all neurological function."
However it does have to be like this. Do you know CPR?
What if you walked into the your kitchen after using your bathroom and found your 1 year old daughter face down in the family dog bowl. Her body is limb, her face is the color of eggplant and she has no vital signs? Yep it only takes one inch of water to drown a toddler.
Start by pressing 2 inches down on her chest, then opening her airway and breathing (yes we still breathe). You will preform 2 full minutes of CPR before calling 911 if you are alone.
Bystander CPR is the backbone to survival without you intervention, there will be a negative outcome.
Make 2016 your year to learn CPR or update your skills. You’ll be glad that you did!
