Woodstock Street To Close For Cemetery Landscaping Work

ROSWELL, GA — Woodstock Street between Minhinette Drive and Highway 9 will be closed Thursday and Friday to accommodate repairs and landscaping on the steep slopes at the edges of Old Roswell Cemetery.

The closure will go into effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 4 and Jan. 5, the city said. Due to the proximity of the landscaping project to the road, Woodstock Street will be closed during the duration of the work.

Providing landscaping to address the erosion problem along these slopes and to stabilize the effect the erosion is having on the cemetery is a priority for the city and the Roswell Historical Society.

A mix of evergreen perennial low-maintenance groundcover will provide vigorous vegetative cover for the slopes the city of Roswell said. You can learn more about work to preserve and restore the city's historic cemeteries by visiting the Roswell Historical Society's website.
