Wynn, Dippolito Lose Re-Election Bids

That’s according to preliminary election results, which show incumbents Rich Dippolito of Post 1 and Becky Wynn of Post 2, respectively, losing re-election bids to their challengers. The race to fill the Post 3 seat shows candidate Donald Horton leading the five-way race.
As of 11:12 p.m., Marcelo Zapata leads Dippolito with 57.39 percent, or 4,044 votes. Dippolito is currently polling at 42.47 percent, or 2,993 votes.

Wynn is also trailing her opponent, Mike Palermo. Palermo is leading the race with 74.11 percent, or 5,239 votes, compared to Wynn’s 25.7 percent, or 1,817 votes.
Horton is currently polling at 64.6 percent, or 4,540 votes. He’s followed by Ricky Spencer at 17.62 percent, or 1,238 votes; Kay Howell at 10.66 percent, or 749 votes; Shayne Gray at 4.25 percent, or 299 votes; and Nate Porter at 2.55 percent, or 179 votes.
The Post 3 seat became vacant when Betty Price resigned to run for the Georgia House of Representatives. She subsequently won the special election to fill the House District 48 seat.
Brian Hansford, the city’s Municipal Court judge, faced no opposition in his bid for the seat.
