Candidates Rally Around Joe Houseman Ahead of Special Election Runoff
Brian Eufinger and Suzi Voyles have endorsed Joe Houseman, who will face off against Chris Burnett in the June 21 runoff.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- At least two public figures who didn't garner enough votes to make it into the June 21 runoff for the Sandy Springs special election are tossing their support behind one of the candidates running for office.
Brian Eufinger and Suzi Voyles are calling on citizens to support candidate Joe Houseman in the runoff.
Houseman and fellow candidate Chris Burnett were the top two candidates who received enough votes to advance to run the runoff.

The winner will become the city's District 3 representative on the City Council, a seat vacated by Graham McDonald when he resigned to run for the House District 52 seat.
"Over the course of the campaign, I've had the privilege of getting to know the other candidates and their philosophies about their desired vision for the future of our city," Eufinger said in a statement. "Among all my fellow candidates, one rose to the top. I am happy to endorse Joe Houseman, a fellow Eagle Scout, a man of great integrity and one who shares my primary values of protecting our neighborhoods and achieving smart, balanced growth."

On her Facebook page, Voyles said she was still overwhelmed by the outpouring of support her candidacy attracted and while the outcome was not what she wanted, "we still have the opportunity to elect an honest and principled man who loves Sandy Springs and its neighborhoods."
"I hope that you will join me in supporting Joe Houseman for Sandy Springs City Council on June 21," she added.
Former candidate Larry Young told Patch he will remain neutral in the runoff.
"Both candidates are good people," he said. "They each worked very hard and have been rewarded for their efforts. I do encourage everyone in District 3 to go vote, early if possible, as turnout may be impacted by summer schedules."
