Police Arrest Sandy Springs Bank Robbery Suspect

The man, who was wearing an eye patch during the time of the incident, is accused of holding up Wells Fargo at 8721 Roswell Road.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The man accused of holding up a Sandy Springs bank while sporting an eye patch earlier this month has been arrested.

Darrius King, 22, was arrested this week in Norcross, Sandy Springs police Capt. Mike Lindstrom said.

King, who was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Thursday, is charged with robbery by intimidation and aggravated assault.

Police were dispatched to Wells Fargo at 8721 Roswell Road just after 11 a.m. Sept. 6. Witnesses say the suspect passed a note to the teller demanding cash.

The man, who was wearing the patch over his right eye, did not brandish a weapon during the time of the incident and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Capt. Lindstrom said King initially fled to Tennessee following the incident but after receiving tips from residents, the suspect was tracked down in metro Atlanta.

Jail records show King, a Norcross resident, remains at the facility.
