Resident Robbed at Gunpoint in Sandy Springs
Police say the male suspect forced the victim to get into his own car, drove him to an ATM to withdraw cash and fled in his vehicle.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Sandy Springs police are appealing to the public to provide any details that could help solve an armed robbery occurring Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called to investigate the incident just after 1 p.m. Feb. 5. According to police, the victim said a man brandishing a silver handgun approached him in his driveway on Spalding Creek Court.
The suspect demanded cash, forced the victim into the passenger seat of his own vehicle and drove him to a nearby ATM.

The victim was forced to withdraw money and the suspect fled the scene in the victim's car. Police were able to recover the vehicle in Lithonia and a female passenger was detained for questioning.
The suspect is described as a black male with medium skin complexion and facial hair. He's possibly in his late 20's, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds.

Sunday's incident is the latest in a series of robberies reported in the city. On Jan. 31, two men walking near a Wells Fargo Bank on New Northside Drive were robbed at gunpoint by an unknown suspect. On Jan. 22, a woman and a man were also robbed at gunpoint on Northwood Drive. The woman was injured when one of the suspects snatched a necklace from her neck and shoved her to the ground.
