Sandy Springs Among America's Most Diverse Cities
The city ranks 15th overall, but is fourth among the country's mid-sized cities, according to WalletHub.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- WalletHub has released its list of 2017's Most Diverse Cities in America, and north Fulton's largest municipality cleared the top 20 in the ranking consisting of a little more than 500 places.
Sandy Springs ranks 15th in the list released Friday by the website, which provides guidance and advice on personal finance issues to readers. Other Georgia cities making the overall list include Roswell at 22, Johns Creek at 24, Columbus at 79, Atlanta at 86, Savannah at 136, August at 153, Macon at 226, Athens at 297, and Albany at 396.
To come up with its list, WalletHub reviewed 501 of the country's most populated cities -- limiting each state to no more than 10 cities each -- in the areas of socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household and religious diversity.

After categorizing the cities based on population, WalletHub then evaluated the five aforementioned areas using 13 metrics, including household income, educational attainment, birthplace and linguistic diversity, industry and occupational diversity, race and ethnicity, marital status, age and religion.
Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most diversity.
If one were to review the list of cities according to population, Sandy Springs ranks fourth on the list of mid-sized cities while Roswell places seventh and Johns Creek comes in at ninth on the list of small cities, respectively.
This isn't the first time Sandy Springs has been touted by WalletHub. In October, the city was named 27th best place to raise a family in the Peach State. Additionally, SafeWise's recently listed Sandy Springs as among its safest cities in Georgia.
