Johns Creek Named Best Place To Raise a Family

WalletHub has released its 2016 list for the state of Georgia.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The city of Johns Creek has been named the top place to raise a family in the state of Georgia.

That's according to WalletHub, which released its list for 2016 on Monday. Johns Creek ranks first, followed by Milton at No. 2, Alpharetta at No. 3, Cusetta at No. 4 and Suwanee at No. 5.

To come up with its list, WalletHub reviewed 100 cities and compared what it calls "four key dimensions." Those were family life and fun; education; health and safety; affordability; socioeconomics.

Specifically, WalletHub looked at items such as number of playgrounds and attractions, quality of local schools, air quality, number of pediatricians, violent crime rate per capita and property crime rate per capita, housing affordability and percentages of families living below poverty,

The top 10 list for 2016 is as follows:

  1. Johns Creek
  2. Milton
  3. Alpharetta
  4. Cusetta
  5. Suwanee
  6. Druid Hills
  7. Peachtree City
  8. Decatur
  9. Evans
  10. Woodstock

Rankings for surrounding cities include Roswell at 12, Dunwoody at 14, Kennesaw at 15, Brookhaven at 26 and Sandy Springs at 27.
