Sandy Springs Bank Robbery Suspect Remains At Large
The FBI believes the man is the same suspect behind a November 2016 robbery at a bank in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The man the FBI believes is behind a December 2016 bank robbery in Sandy Springs has been connected to a similar incident occurring just a month earlier in Chattanooga.
The agency's Atlanta Field Office is once again asking the public to identify the subject responsible for the Nov. 21, 2016, robbery of First Citizens Bank in the Tennessee border city as well as a Wells Fargo robbery in Sandy Springs.
Around 11:57 a.m., law enforcement officials responded to the robbery at 1611 Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga. Reports indicate the male entered First Citizens Bank, brandished a silver and black semi-automatic firearm and demanded money.

The male wore a surgical or respirator type mask around his neck and witnesses observed the suspect getting into a vehicle described as a 2009 to 2013 charcoal grey four door Acura TSX. The car, according to witnesses, was driven by a black female wearing a red baseball cap. She was described as being in her late 20's with a small build.

A little more than a month later around 4:26 p.m. Dec. 28, 2016, a lone male entered Wells Fargo Bank at 124 Glenridge Parkway in Sandy Springs, brandished a silver firearm and announced a robbery. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled the area on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid to late 30’s, about 5 feet, 5 inches in height and weighs around 155 pounds.
He was also sporting a low-cut hair style, and wearing all black clothing, a black baseball hat, gloves and a white surgical/dust mask over his face.
This case is being worked by Sandy Springs detectives and the FBI Knoxville and Atlanta Field Office. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
