Sandy Springs AT&T Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested
The 20-year-old is one of three man accused of taking 68 cell phones valued at $65,000 during the July 4th armed robbery.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Investigators with the Sandy Springs Police Department have arrested a 20-year-old male in connection to the July 4th armed robbery of an AT&T store where cell phones valued at $65,000 were stolen from the business.
Morrow resident Laron James Patterson is charged with five counts of armed robbery, four counts of false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, the department said Monday morning.
The robbery, which involved two additional subjects, was reported around 4:26 p.m. at 4600 Roswell Road. According to a report released by the agency, one store employee said a man wearing a dark hoodie came inside and walked quickly to the back of the store. Another male quickly followed, brandishing a handgun and ordering everyone to get on the floor.

A third male hovered by the front door as a possible look out. The suspects zip-tied employees as well as customers, took money from the cash drawer and forced everyone in the store into a safe room.
A total of 68 cell phones valued at $65,000 and a victim's ring, which was valued at $7,000, were taken during the robbery.

Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham said Patterson is not cooperating with investigators at this time.
"(We are) still asking the public to help with the other suspects’ identities," he added.
