Standout Educators at Heards Ferry Elementary

The Sandy Springs school recognized its Teacher of the Year recently.

 

A few educators at Heards Ferry Elementary School are wearing brighter smiles, this week.

First grade teacher Jamie Weber was honored by her peers as Teacher of the Year. Beverly Greenslade, who has worked with special needs children for four years has been recognized as Assistant of the Year. And this summer, Media Specialist Dianne Locke will attend a five-day event at the 2012 Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Summer Teacher Institutes, in Washington D.C.

At the event, Locke and other educators will be shown ways to teach strategies for using primary sources, such as letters, photos, or clothing to enable students to be engaged, think critically and construct knowledge, a press announcement said.
