Tuesday is Election Day in House District 80 Runoff
Candidates J. Max Davis and Taylor J. Bennett are running for the seat, which includes Brookhaven and parts of Sandy Springs and Chamblee.

Eligible Sandy Springs residents on Tuesday will be able to cast their ballots in the special election runoff for State House District 80.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 11 throughout the district, which encompasses Brookhaven and portions of Sandy Springs and Chamblee.
Citizens will choose between candidates Democrat Taylor J. Bennett and Republican J. Max Davis.

The seat became vacant when former State Rep. Mike Jacobs accepted an appointment by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve on the DeKalb County State Court bench.
To help residents determine if they live in the House District, the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections has placed District and Poll Locator maps on the county’s website. This tool will also help residents figure out their precinct boundaries and polling locations.
Davis served as Brookhaven’s first mayor until he resigned to run for the seat. Bennett is a Brookhaven attorney at the Bennett Law Group.
