At last month’s "Repack the Backpack" drive-thru event,
more than three hundred students received a backpack full of school supplies that
included pencils, pens, crayons, color pencils, folders, paper, rulers, a
calculator, face mask, and hand sanitizer. In addition to the bookbags, students
and families received hygiene packs that included soap, toothbrushes,
toothpaste, mouthwash, lotion, and hand sanitizer.
Community Partners Beyond the Bell, St. Joseph’s/Candler African-American
Health Information and Resource Center, Quality Care for Families, and Silk
Hope Baptist Church were also on site providing families with information and
family resources. See more photos from
the event in our Smugmug Gallery here.
