Hubert Middle School Teacher Marissa Johnson has been named the 2021 New Teacher of the Year by the Georgia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Johnson is a Family and Consumer Science Teacher known for using innovative approaches to teach her students.

This award recognizes new CTE teachers who have made significant contributions toward innovative and unique career and technical education programs and shown a professional commitment early in their careers. To be eligible for the award, teachers must be relatively new to the profession (3 to 5 years) and are evaluated on their contributions to teacher and student success, Innovations in CTE and leadership in the local or greater CTE community.
The announcement was made at the organization's annual conference held virtually last week. Congratulations to Mrs. Johnson!
