Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society Announces January 27 Family Support Meeting

The meeting is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Dwaine & Cynthia Willet Children's Hospital of Savannah, 4700 Waters Ave., Savannah

(SAVANNAH, GA) Jan. 15, 2026, The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) invites families, friends and supporters to its first Family Support Meeting of 2026, to be held Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Dwaine & Cynthia Willet Children’s Hospital of Savannah, 4700 Waters Ave., Savannah, GA 31404.

LDSS will have BBQ and Bingo, with prizes and a raffle for attendees. Families are encouraged to arrive hungry and ready to join in the fun as the organization continues to build connection and community in the new year.

LDSS leaders say they are excited to launch the new year with fresh programs, expanded community engagement opportunities and renewed momentum to support local families.

“We hope everyone enjoyed a joyful and restful holiday season celebrating with those they love,” said LDSS President Candy Bogardus. “We cannot wait to reconnect at our first meeting of the year and share the exciting initiatives already underway for 2026.”

The meeting is part of the organization’s ongoing effort to equip member families with education, peer support and access to local resources. Attendees will have an opportunity to connect, collaborate and learn from others within the Down syndrome community.
