• City Launches Stormwater Utility Hardship Assistance Program • Savannah Herald (savannahherald.com) — Low-income Savannah residents who struggle with their stormwater utility fees can now apply for a new hardship assistance program run by the city and EOA. Starting tonight, applicants must call a dedicated phone line to book in-person appointments and bring proof of income, ID, and a current water bill to see if they qualify under the 2026 income guidelines.
   

• 26 new SPD officers sworn into service at badge pinning ceremony (wtoc.com) — Savannah's police force just grew, with 26 new officers sworn in and 20 current officers promoted during a badge pinning ceremony in the city. Leaders urged the rookies to lean on colleagues, stay grounded in their values, and remember that even routine calls can change lives across Savannah's neighborhoods.
   

• Port of Savannah sees record September volumes (islandpacket.com) — Savannah's port just logged its strongest September ever, moving more than 500,000 container units and helping drive one of the Georgia Ports Authority's best quarters on record. At the same time, the city is asking residents to help shape the new Savannah MOVES multi-modal transportation plan through October meetings and pop-up events at libraries, community centers, churches, and neighborhood hubs.
