BT Wealth Management Welcomes New Managing Director Bernard Palmer from Tyler Perry Studios

BT Wealth Management, an affiliate of Bennett Thrasher PC, has hired 25-year industry veteran Bernard Palmer as a managing director, effective Sept. 16, 2013. Palmer has extensive experience in providing investment strategies and advice to institutions and individuals, as well as providing individuals with personal financial advice in the areas of estate and wealth transfer planning, tax and financial planning, risk management, and cash flow management. In his new role, Palmer will be providing investment advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and small businesses.

Prior to joining BT Wealth Management, Palmer was CFO for Tyler Perry Studios, where he advised senior management on personal financial and investment advisory matters in addition to his corporate finance duties. He also spent 16 years in the personal financial services group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. For approximately 12 of those years, Palmer was the partner in charge of PwC Investment Advisors, a registered investment advisor and wholly-owned subsidiary of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC, that advised a client base with over $3 billion of investment assets.

Palmer is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), and has twice been named as one of Worth Magazine’s Top Financial Advisors. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and his master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.
