Campbell's Chakecia Miller awarded Kennesaw State honor
The Dr. Bobbie Bailey Award recognizes outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, character and sports.

A significant honor has come way for one of the participants in tonight’s big-time late regular season game at School’s Wills Gymnasium.
The Region 4-AAAAA girls regular season championship hangs in the balance as North Cobb visits for the 6 p.m. game, and the home team Lady Spartans will again look to senior Chakecia Miller to help lead the way.
Kennesaw State University recently awarded Miller its Dr. Bobbie Bailey Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, character and sports.

In addition, Miller and fellow senior teammate Erica Norwood have been nominated for consideration to play in next month’s prestigious McDonald’s All American Game in Chicago. Next year, Miller will be playing basketball at George Washington University while Norwood will be doing the same at the Air Force Academy.
Tonight, though, it will be the fifth-ranked Lady Spartans, 18-5 overall and 10-2 in region action, taking on the fourth-ranked Lady Warriors (20-3, 10-2).

The winner controls their destiny and both teams would be heavy favorites in their regular season-enders on Friday night. Campbell plays host to Kennesaw Mountain on Senior Night and North Cobb takes on visiting Harrison. The region tournament is set to begin next Monday.
North Cobb has won 11 of its last 12 games, including a 64-62 win over visiting Campbell last Wednesday. Campbell has also won 11 of its last 12 games, its sole loss over that span was to North Cobb. Expect a classic 4-AAAAA battle tonight at CHS.
The Campbell boys (17-6, 8-4) also have much to play for against North Cobb (13-10, 7-5). Having won three of its last four, Campbell is tied for second place in the region and still has a shot at the region title if things go right. North Cobb is in fourth and has dropped two straight, including a 47-45 home loss to the Spartans last Wednesday.
