9U All-Stars Make Georgia History with Three-Peat

SMYRNA, GA (August 19, 2026) – Two Smyrna Little League All-Star teams were recognized by the City of Smyrna Council at its meeting on August 17, 2026. The 7U Blue All-Stars and the 9U Blue-All Stars both won their respective division state championship titles earlier this summer. This was the 9U team’s third consecutive Little League title, making them the only team in Smyrna and Georgia history to win their age group three years in a row. 

“I am so proud of these young athletes who represented our City with talent, heart, and dedication,” said City of Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton. “In addition to celebrating the players’ achievements, I want to thank the parents, families, and Smyrna Little League. The long drives and endless support played a crucial role in what this group has accomplished.” 

The 9U Blue All-Stars are coached by Mike Lowe, Scott Phelan and Alan Nix. Team members are Lawson Barnes, Makai Bidot, Emi Coto, Dash Duke, AJ Gordon, Reid Haisten, Mills Kalin, Shep Lowe, Jack Norton, Tate Nix, Jude Phelan and Beau Sanders. 

The 7U Blue All-Stars are coached by Mike Meschke, Wes Faucher, Philip Bencina and Tracey West. Team members are James Bencina, Raphael Bookman, Reid Brothers, Zander Faucher, Emersyn Ford, Greg Horsford, Malcolm Hughes, Colton Meschke, Ace Miller, Luke Reynolds, Brooks Stout and Hudson West.

The teams will be celebrated at Brinkley Park in early October and on stage at the City of Smyrna’s 154th Birthday Celebration and Culture & Spirit Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026.  

The Smyrna Little League was founded in 1954 by Bill Hambrick to provide baseball and softball to local youth. For the last 72 years, the League has served more than 1,000 players across multiple age groups.
