Cobb Animal Shelter: Free Adoptions, Volunteers Needed
Looking for a new pup or cat? Or do you want to volunteer your time helping out at the shelter? Find more info here.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Throughout October, all animals who've been at the Cobb Animal Control shelter for more than 30 days are free to adopt. Also, they're looking for much needed volunteers to help around the shelter.
"No tricks, just treats," they said in a press release about Adopt-a-Shelter Pet Month. The free pet adoption is a huge savings. Normally, pets are $115 to adopt. But, for the month of October, pets that have been at the shelter for less than 30 days cost only $40, and animals who've been there for over 30 days are free.
All pets adopted from the shelter are spayed or neutered, as well as microchipped. All cats and dogs are vaccinated and tested for diseases and worms.

The Cobb Animal Control Staff is also seeking new volunteers to play "an integral role" at the shelter, serving as kitten feeders, groomer and dog walkers. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and completely fill out the application package to be considered.
The shelter is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, located at 1060 Al Bishop Dr. in Marietta. For more information, you can visit cobbcounty.org/pets or call 770-499-4136.
