LOCAL LODGE BRINGS CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT TO SMYRNA
The Meyerhardt #314 F&AM Masonic Lodge is teaming up with Legacy Links and Fox Creek Golf Club in Smyrna, GA on Armed Forces Day to produce a flagship Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.
Lodge members, veterans and friends will pick up their golf clubs and take to the links for a day of golf, camaraderie and fun on May 19, 2012.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project assisting their goal of fostering the most successful and well-adjusted wounded service members in our nation’s history.
Lodge member and event chairman, James Leavell, shares his passion for military service with esteemed colleagues to create an event he plans to become a staple in the Smyrna community.
“We’d like to keep the event local for the first year.” Leavell said,”This is a building year and a learning process. With our community’s support, we plan to increase awareness for the brave men and women who fight allowing us the freedom to participate in events like this.”
Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun best-ball start at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the closest to the pin challenge as well as a hole-in-one challenge on holes 6 and 15. Hole sponsorships are available for $100.
Registration fees of $75 per individual player and $280 per foursome includes greens fees for 18 holes of golf on the beautiful Legacy Links golf course.
The Wounded Warrior Project raises awareness and enlists the public’s aid for the needs of our injured servicemen and women and help injured service members aid and assist each other.
