Green Acres Hosts Community Involvement Forum
Parents shared emotional testimonies of how being at Green Acres has benefited both their child and themselves.
in Smyrna hosted a community involvement forum earlier this month called ‘Conversation Over Coffee.’
This was a grassroots, door-to-door effort to engage the resources of business owners, community groups and families to encourage the continued growth and development of the children served at the school.
Area 2 Assistant Superintendent Dale Gaddis spoke to the families gathered about the importance of their active participation in their child’s education and encouraged them to continue to work with the school.

Assistant principal Angela White shared the dynamic changes in the school’s demographics that have taken place over the last 50 years. Green Acres’ school counselors, parent liaisons and academic coaches shared the many learning and support opportunities that have been made available to students and families by the school
Green Acres Principal Mike Bivens opened the floor for questions and opportunities to share their perspective on programs, needs and challenges facing the Green Acres students and families.
