Several Campbell High School students have been taken to the hospital after the school bus they were riding in collided with an SUV in Smyrna on Wednesday morning, police said.

According to Smyrna police spokesman Chris Graeff, the students complained of injuries after the accident and were transported to the hospital for evaluation. FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the accident occurred at the intersection of Atlanta Road and Hawthorne Avenue.
Graeff said that the accident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m.

According to the Marietta Daily Journal, six students were treated for injuries at a local hospital and later released. Graeff told the MDJ that the driver of the school bus and the driver of the SUV were both cited for failing to yield.
