Meth Trafficking Suspects Followed from Smyrna, Arrested in Cherokee County

Authorities trailed a suspected drug dealer from a location in Smyrna and discovered 17 ounces of meth in his car after pulling him over in Cherokee County, according to police.

The Marietta Daily Journal reports that Adam Bennett, 28 and Sherae Quarles, 22 were arrested on I-75 near Holly Springs by the Georgia State Patrol after Cherokee County narcotics agents had followed the pair from the Smyrna location into their jurisdiction. Law enforcement discovered the methamphetamine and two handguns in the vehicle, the MDJ says.

Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS) Commander Phil Price told the MDJ that Bennett was a well-known drug dealer, whose territory covered Cherokee and Pickens counties.

Bennett has been charged with trafficking meth, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and misrepresenting ID through a license plate. Quarles was charged with trafficking, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, and possession of oxycodone, the MDJ says.
