Smyrna Coffeehouse Revs Up The Festival Season
Rev Coffee expecting between 500 and 1,000 attendees at Saturday's Spring Fest 2011.

is gearing up for the new season with Spring Fest 2011, a music and arts Festival this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Rev Fests were born in the fall of 2009 in the back of Rev Coffee when owner Nick Bimmerle and one of his employees were discussing Smyrna’s music and art scene.
“We just were kind of sitting in the back one day and me and an employee thought it would be cool to have an outside concert I guess,” Bimmerle said. “Then we just started kicking around ideas. He was an art student at Georgia State, and some of his friends are painters and sculptors and things like that. And we thought it would be neat to mix art and music, especially local artists and local musicians from our (weekly) open mic.”

The Fall Fest was a success, and Bimmerle decided to hold the festival biannually. The festivals have grown since 2009. Bimmerle expects between 500 and 1,000 attendees at Spring Fest 2011.
“It’s just nice to support local businesses and musicians and artists, and kind of give them a way to get out and express what they do,” Bimmerle said.
