Smyrna Library Receives Response from Troops Overseas

The library created care packages for the troops serving in Afghanistan last month and recently received a thank you card.

Several men and women serving in the armed forces in Afghanistan repaid the kindness shown to them by the Smyrna Public Library and the people who helped prepare care packages for the troops by sending a thank you card to the library.

Friends of Smyrna Library posted the update on their Facebook page on Wednesday and included the signatures and well wishes from several troops who received care packages through the Smyrna Library last month. The three large careΒ packages included snacks, cards, books, and other reminders of home. The Facebook post reports that it only took 10 days for the care packages to make it to Afghanistan from the library.

β€œWe’ll be good on Vienna sausages for a lifetime!” wrote one soldier.
