Smyrna Police Officer Accused of "Inappropriate Relationship" With Minor

An officer with the Smyrna Police Department is under investigation after allegations surfaced that the officer had an inappropriate relationship with a young person.

A Smyrna Police Department statement confirms that an investigation is underway, and adds that the possible victim is a juvenile male, but does not provide any further details. WSB-TV reports that the department’s internal affairs unit and the Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children unit are investigating the allegations.

No charges have been filed, nor has any disciplinary action been taken against the officer as of yet.
