Residents of a Marietta townhome complex are grateful to the Marietta Fire Department for rescuing a kitten that had fallen down a storm drain on Monday.
According to WSB-TV, neighbors were moved by the kittenβs cries for help and tried to rescue it, but nobody could reach the little one. Out of options, residents asked for the fire department to save the kitten.

Firefighters may be stereotyped as rescuing full-grown cats from tall trees, but Mariettaβs firefighters are just as skilled at rescuing tiny kittens from beneath the surface; WSB-TV reports that it took crews an hour to remove the storm drain cover, and then it took a little more effort to convince the kitten to come to them.
Now that the kitten has been freed from the storm drain, residents told WSB-TV that they will put him or her up for adoption through the local Homeless Pets Foundation.
