Snellville Officer Hurt In Crash Will Be OK: Police

SNELLVILLE, GA—Snellville Police say an officer who was involved in a crash Thursday will be released from the hospital "soon."

A Snellville Police detective told 11Alive the injured officer was on the scene of another accident when he was injured. Video from 11Alive shows the officer's cruiser was also damaged.

Two other people involved in the crash are being treated for serious injuries. Scenic Highway was shut down in both directions between Wisteria Drive and Dogwood Road for several hours.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
