Austell Man Killed in Crash

AUSTELL, GA -- A 24-year-old Austell man died late Sunday night after apparently losing control of his car on a curve.

Police say the crash happened on Clay Road at Light Way in Austell.

Emanuel Carapia was driving a 2013 Ford Focus. He was traveling eastbound on Clay when he lost control on a right curve. His car hit a curb on the north side of the road, collided with a fence and then crashed into a tree.

Carapia was taken to Wellstar Cobb Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators believe that speed was a factor in the collision.
