Mrs. Maggie Jo Bennett Bills, age 89 of Mableton, passed away Aug. 7. Jo was a member of the and of the Quilting Guild. She is survived by her sons, Harry Bills Jr. of Auburn, Ga., Richard Bills of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Mary Frances Hendrix of Cartersville, Sue Mitchell of Dahlonega; sister, Martha Jean Edmondson of Conyers; grandchildren, Freddy Mitchell of Snellville, Chris Mitchell of Dahlonega, Richard Bills of Hiram, David Bills of Homestead,Fla., Michelle Foley of Vernon and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Davis-Struempf funeral home on Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Davis-Struempf Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Vartenisian officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Eastview Cemetery in Conyers.
Mr. Carl Allen Blevens, 62 of Austell, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6. Carl was retired from International Paper and was a member of Olive Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his mother, Vivian Whitten of Austell; daughter, Crystal Nichols of Austell; son, Tommy Blevens of Melborne, Fla.; Kathryn Blevens of Austell; and five grandchildren, Ariel Stow, Ashley Nichols, and Taylor, Kate, and Chloe Blevens. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Davis-Struempf Chapel with Dr. Marion Beaver and Dr. Randy Cheek officiating. Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home and Crematory.
